The State of New Jersey has authorized the construction of six off track wagering parlors to be constructed in the state.  Freehold Park Raceway LP, undertook the design and construction of one of these parlors at an existing shopping center in Tom’s River, New Jersey.

Epic Management was retained to work with the Owner and design team during the pre-construction phase to complete multiple tasks.  These tasks included estimating, scheduling, value engineering and constructability reviews.  Once the construction documents were completed Epic went to bid and ultimately provided the owner a Guaranteed Maximum Price.

Construction of the approximately 6 million dollar project included a full service kitchen and concession area, a sports bar, wagering desk and wagering booths.  165 wagering booths were installed with TV monitors and self-bet machines.  Overall 330 flat screen TV monitors ranging in size from 15 inch to 50 inch were placed throughout the 28,000 square foot area.  The project was completed significantly ahead of schedule to allow the owner to open up a week before the Kentucky Derby.
