Epic’s Role: Construction Manager

Construction Costs: $22.3 million

Epic Management is serving as the Construction Manager on six, separately phased projects at the historical Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold, New Jersey. Originally constructed in 1954, the Courthouse requires major updates pertaining to security and safety, as well as aesthetics.

Epic’s scope of services cover preconstruction, construction administration, and project close-out for six projects:

  • a new security entrance addition and renovations
  • bathroom renovations and interior ADA upgrades
  • modernization and replacement of electrical equipment
  • replacement of the fire alarm system
  • elevator and standby generator replacement
  • structural roof repairs and cooling tower replacement

This series of projects presents diverse phasing and coordination challenges. Epic manages the various renovations and additions for each project, which are allocated into several different phases. Epic’s efforts also include daily coordination between Monmouth County Engineering, Monmouth County’s Building and Grounds staff, Monmouth County’s Sheriff Office, the Superior Court of New Jersey administrative staff, five separate Design teams, and six separate Contractors.

On account of Epic’s diligent endeavors, the work is almost 2 months ahead of schedule.
