Construction Costs: $24 million
This project included a unique funding model whereas the Port Authority NY/NJ and Federal Aviation Administration provided 60% of the project cost and the State of New Jersey provided 40% of the project costs. Epic Management was chosen to serve as the Construction Manager. Epic was contracted, after the award of the General Construction contract, at the urging of the Port Authority NY/NJ to provide on-site management including administration and coordination of progress payment funding disbursements from Port Authority NY/NJ, FAA and the State of New Jersey.
New construction and renovations to H.P. Becton Regional High School, originally built in 1970, provide students and staff with a new Media Center, Art Room, music ensemble and practice rooms, Health Science Room, upgrades Science Laboratories, Administrative spaces and renovations at selected classrooms and interior spaces. In addition, components associated to abate Aircraft noise from nearby Teterboro Airport were replaced including new windows, exterior doors, roofing and energy efficient heating and cooling systems.
