Construction Costs: $167 million
Construction of three new buildings varying in height from 3 to 7 stories totaling 650,000 sf and a converter house one story in height, 6,000 sf. to serve as a central plant for distribution of primary heating and cooling for the complex.
The project will add 1,500 student beds, study lounges, classrooms and 25,000 sf of retail space consisting of convenience type stores such as dining venues, dry cleaners and a small grocery store. One building contains a 7,800 sf movie theater. The buildings will have a contemporary appearance and feature natural materials such as brick, stone, wood and even some copper. Interior construction schedule is an aggressive 14 months. Epic’s peak manpower was 160 carpenters.
